Lift off! Mark this Day in History... July 2011

Living on the Space Coast in Florida we have enjoyed watching a many a shuttles lift off into space. This year NASA launched their last shuttle.Shuttle Atlantis lifted on on this sunny (yet cloud covered) day. All the family gathered around for the countdown... 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 BLAST OFF!!!!

Atlantis has blasted off on NASA's last space shuttle launch. The historic liftoff occurred Friday morning, 30 years and three months after the very first shuttle flight. Four astronauts are riding Atlantis to orbit. The shuttle is bound for the International Space Station, making one final supply run.

How exciting to be here on the space coast... in this day in history!

Papa, CJ, LJ, Michael, Lil, & MJ all point to where they hope to see the shuttle on it's way to outerspace!

Unfortunately there were so many clouds this day that we didn't get to actually see it.
